The Homeric Record

A permanent public record for those who wish history to know where they stood.

Terms

By signing the declaration and using this site, you agree to the following. These terms are intended to be read plainly.

Voluntary public submission

When you sign, you voluntarily submit a name for public inclusion in The Homeric Record. You confirm that you are entitled to submit that name and that your submission is not intended to impersonate another person.

Signing and claiming are distinct

Signing creates your public entry in The Homeric Record, including a signatory number, a public record page, and a fixed placement within the Living Record.

Claiming is a separate and optional step that associates an email address with a record that already exists and allows us to send your confirmation. Claiming is free, and no payment or purchase is required.

Signing does not require claiming. Neither signing nor claiming constitutes consent to receive marketing email. Marketing consent is a separate and optional choice.

Public visibility and permanence

The name you submit, your signatory number, your public record page, and your placement within the Living Record are public by design.

Once submitted, a signature becomes part of The Homeric Record and cannot be edited, replaced, or withdrawn through the site. Signatory numbers and positions within the Living Record are permanent and are not reassigned.

The Record is designed to endure, and public entries may remain visible indefinitely. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have regarding your personal information under applicable law.

Acceptable use and moderation

You may not submit content that is abusive, fraudulent, impersonating, unlawful, technically harmful, or otherwise inappropriate.

The project may moderate, withhold, redact, or remove submissions where reasonably necessary to protect the integrity of The Homeric Record, respond to misuse or abuse, address impersonation, or comply with legal obligations.

Content and ownership

The project’s original branding, site design, written content, and original creative assets are protected as applicable.

Classical works and source material in the public domain remain in the public domain. Third party material, including embedded or referenced content, remains subject to the rights of its respective owners.

Independence

The Homeric Record is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with Christopher Nolan, any film studio or production company involved with The Odyssey, or any other third party referenced on the site. References to people, works, companies, or commentary do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Availability and changes

The site and its services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The project may modify, interrupt, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary.

These terms may also be updated from time to time. The current version published on the site governs your use of the site.
